These lines have been taken from the English Book poem, "A speech from As you like it", written by William Shakespeare.

CONTEXT

This speech is taken from Act.II Scene VII of As you like is a famous comedy by William Shakespeare. It is uttered by Jacques, one of the lords, living a life of exile in the forest of Arden. A very realistic picture of life is present. The first five stages have a humorous touch and the last stages take on a melancholy tone.

STANZA#1

All the _____ a stage,

And all the ________players

They have _______their entrances

And one man _________many parts,

EXPLANATION

The poem begins with a beautiful metaphor. The world is a stage and all the people living here are actors. As there are two doors on a stage, by one the actor appears and disappears by the next. In the same way, our birth and death are our entrance and exit from the stage of this world. man passes through seven stages during his life period.

STANZA#2

His acts being ____the infant,

Mewling ________nurse's arms.

EXPLANATION

The first stage is infancy when he gets birth and appearance on the stage of this world in the shape of an innocent baby. Man is a born actor, so his acting starts up from the first stage. All the time. crying like a cat or puking in the hands of his nurse.

STANZA#3

And then the whining ________satchel,

And shining ________ Unwillingly to school

EXPLANATION

The second stage watches him playing the role of a school-going boy. He goes to school unwillingly. He has a bag of books by his side. There are tears in his eyes. He has a flower-like face but moves towards school at a very slow speed. He does not want to go to school. So he creeps like a snail.

STANZA#4

And then the lover,

Sighing _______ballad

Made ________ eyebrow. 

EXPLANATION

The third stage of man is very emotional. Here he fell in love all seriously and blindly. He forgets the whole world. He thinks of one object. All the time singing star ballads and praising the beauty of the eyebrow of his beloved. This is a love stage and he sighs like a furnace.

Then a soldier,

Full of ___________like the pard,

Jealous in honor________quarrel,

Seeking ______reputation

Even in _________mouth.

EXPLANATION

The fourth stage is a practical stage, where he joins some businesses and some professions. He struggles for the needs of life. He cultivates many drawbacks at this stage He takes the oaths too much because he becomes a liar. He is careless about his personality and looks like a pard. 

He becomes a jealous man. He uselessly seeks quarrels with other people to show his importance. He becomes crazy about his name and fame. He is ready to go find the mouth of death for the sake of fame. All the time running after bubble reputation.
